STATEMENT
“Construction
has been a common theme in much of my work to symbolize renewal and
an optimistic future in our own lives. I am inspired by the
contrasting textures of the new upon the old, order amidst chaos, and
bright upon neutrals. Integrating contrasting media in artwork also
reflects my value of appreciating diversity in an ever-changing
environment. In
combination with richly layered atmospheric surfaces, I often place
hints of photographic imagery as a vehicle to connect us beyond our
initial perceptions of what is real. Through subtle techniques and
bold color choices, my intent is to draw the viewer into my work.
Spending time with the complexity and beauty of each surface, along
with the suggested narrative, is much like getting to know a person.
May you be renewed and inspired to re-visit these delightful worlds.”
